Ethan’s First Thoughts

I am excited and nervous about the trip. What would you think if some random strangers came up to you and took over your house for a year? To me, it seems strange. I don’t want some 2-year old playing with my stuff. I have never done this or moved before, which makes it even more scary. I’m also nervous because I won’t see my friends and where I live for more than a year. One other downside is that my dad got me a huge backpacking backpack. This seemed good at first, until I realized I would be using it! I will miss all of my friends and everything else in Ridgewood a ton!

Catching up on the New Yorker in Peru

I’m excited because I get things like no homework, and no schoolwork. I will have(I think) lots of free time, and won’t have to use any of it on homework. I will also be with my family more, instead of having school take up most of the day. There will be NO “I’m late!”s, because we have a whole year for this trip. I will finally get to relax most of the day.

It seems crazy to me that I am going to so many countries! I will see many places that I have never seen, or even heard of! I am so excited to do things like eat sushi in Japan, or see the Nile in Egypt! I will see so many things!
